| Reverse description | The reverse presents two allegorical female figures in a neoclassical composition. At left, a seated figure representing Liberty or Guatemala, draped and holding a laurel branch, faces right toward a standing figure of Justice at right, who is crowned and holds a balance scale above a rectangular plinth. The plinth bears the date of the Liberal Revolution inscribed as '30 DE JUNIO DE 1871'. Broken chains lie at the base beneath the figures. The engraver's signature 'J.B. FRENER' appears in the lower right field. The circular legend 'REPUBLICA DE GUATEMALA' arcs around the upper field, and the denomination 'UN PESO' is incused in bold letters in the lower exergue. |
