Sena is a village in the Monegros comarca of Huesca province — a place so small that its wartime emergency scrip was hand-stamped rather than formally printed, issued under joint CNT-UGT administration during the anarchist-influenced revolutionary committees that briefly controlled much of rural Aragon in late 1936. The Consejo Local de Defensa was the kind of improvised local authority that filled the vacuum left when the Republican state collapsed in the early weeks of the Civil War.

At 40 × 40 mm, this is effectively a square token-note — an unusual format dictated by material scarcity, not design choice.
