Rocafort de Vallbona is a small municipality in the Urgell comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similar towns it issued its own emergency paper currency during the Civil War after metallic coin effectively vanished from circulation in 1936–37. These hyper-local issues — collectively documented in the Turró catalogue — were produced in tiny quantities for purely internal use, rarely travelling beyond the village that issued them. The Imprenta A. Figueres in nearby Tàrrega served multiple municipal clients in the comarca, which means the print quality here is notably more consistent than notes produced on improvised local equipment.

Survival rates for issues of this type are low, not from heavy circulation but from deliberate destruction after the Nationalist victory made Republican municipal scrip worthless and, in some cases, politically dangerous to keep.
