Montmany-Figaró is a tiny municipality in the Vallès Oriental comarca, and its decision to issue emergency paper money in 1937 reflects the near-total breakdown of small-denomination coinage across Republican-held Catalonia during the Civil War. Hundreds of Catalan ajuntaments did the same, many printing notes so small in quantity that survival rates are extremely low. Gràfiques Unificades in Granollers handled production for a number of these local issues — the Granollers workshop was one of the more active emergency printers in the region.
The Turró catalogue remains the definitive reference for Catalan Civil War sèrie B issues, and this note's assigned number places it within a well-documented but genuinely scarce group.
