La Sénia is a small municipality in the southern Tarragona province, and like hundreds of Catalan and Valencian towns, it issued its own emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War when the Republican government's coin supply collapsed almost entirely in 1936–37. These hyper-local municipal notes — collectively called "moneda local" or "paper moneda" — were produced in staggering variety, often on whatever printing resources the local council could access. Quality and survival rates vary enormously by locality.
Turró remains the definitive catalog for this material. The 2329 reference places this squarely within the documented Catalan emission series.
