Dosrius is a small municipality in the Maresme comarca, inland from Mataró, with a population that barely exceeded a few hundred in the 1930s. During the Civil War, the Republican government's decree authorizing local emergency currency allowed even the smallest ayuntamientos to print their own notes — partly to address the acute shortage of small-denomination coinage caused by hoarding and Republican silver requisitions. Imprenta Minerva in Mataró printed for several of these tiny Maresme municipalities, which is why the production quality across the local series is broadly consistent despite the chaotic circumstances.
Turró catalogues this as #915. Two signatures authenticate the issue: the alcalde Jaume Minet and the municipal treasurer Jaume Bonamusa.
