Bellcaire d'Empordà is a small municipality in the Baix Empordà comarca of Girona, and like hundreds of Catalan towns during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency paper money when the Republican government's coin supply collapsed in 1936–37. The Generalitat had authorized municipal issues, but standardization was loose — each ajuntament designed and printed its own notes, often through local printers with no banknote experience.

Turró 362 is among the less commonly encountered Empordà municipal issues, reflecting the tiny population of the issuing authority rather than any particular printing curiosity.
