The Escuelas Profesionales Salesianas were Salesian vocational schools operating under the Catholic religious congregation founded by Don Bosco. During the mid-twentieth century, various Spanish institutions — parishes, cooperatives, schools — issued their own low-denomination paper scrip for internal circulation, filling a gap left by chronic shortages of small coinage in the post-Civil War economy. This note belongs to that tradition.
The thick card stock was a deliberate choice for institutional scrip of this kind, intended to survive repeated handling within a closed circulation environment rather than pass through national banking channels.
