Comments

Amer is a small municipality in the Girona comarca of La Selva, and like hundreds of Catalan towns during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency fractional currency after the Republic's coinage supply collapsed in 1936–37. These municipally-issued notes — collectively catalogued under Turró for Catalonia — were purely local instruments, accepted only within the issuing town and worthless the moment you crossed into the next.

Production quality varied wildly across the series; Amer's issues are among the more obscure, with survival rates low enough that even circulated examples require effort to locate.
