Reverse description Central device comprises the crowned Royal Arms of Spain, quarterly bearing the castles of Castile and lions of León, with an inescutcheon of the Bourbon fleurs-de-lis, all surmounted by the Spanish royal crown. The shield is flanked by the Pillars of Hercules entwined with a banner inscribed 'PLUS ULTRA'. Mint marks 'M.S.' appear at lower left and 'M.' at lower right, denoting the Madrid mint assayers. The circumferential legend 'REY CONSTL. DE ESPAÑA' arcs across the upper field, while 'UNA PESETA' is prominently inscribed across the lower field.
