Comments

Aiguamúrcia is a small municipality in the Alt Camp comarca of Tarragona, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns during the Civil War, its agricultural cooperative issued its own emergency scrip when coin hoarding stripped the local economy of usable small change. The Sindicat Agrícola's cooperative section was the typical vehicle for this — collectivized agriculture needed a medium of exchange that the Republican government in Madrid and the Generalitat in Barcelona were both too stretched to supply in adequate quantity.

The Turró reference is unassigned, which places this note among the lesser-documented local emissions — either too rare for sustained study or catalogued under a variant system.
