Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Queen Victoria in left-facing profile, rendered in the young-head style engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon. The queen's hair is elaborately waved and gathered into a chignon at the nape, with a fillet binding the locks above the forehead. The truncation of the bust is plain and angular. The circumferential legend reads VICTORIA DEI GRATIA REGINA, with the date 1854 positioned in the lower exergual area, and the entire design is bordered by a continuous denticular inner rim.
