Reverse description The reverse displays the colonial Arms of Victoria in the central field, supported by a kangaroo to the left and an emu to the right, both standing on native vegetation. The quartered shield bears the emblems of the colony surmounted by a rising sun, and a ribbon below carries the motto ADVANCE VICTORIA. The date 1862 flanks the upper legend VICTORIA, all within a beaded border. The lower portion of the legend records the maker's details: T. STOKES MAKER 100 COLLINS ST. EAST MELBOURNE, attesting to the well-known Melbourne diesinker responsible for a large proportion of Australian colonial tokens.
