Reverse description The central field depicts a finely engraved scenic view of Nottingham Castle perched upon a rocky promontory, flanked by trees and foliage in a picturesque landscape style characteristic of early nineteenth-century token engraving. A horizontal line separates the scenic vignette from the lower segment, wherein the date '1812' is prominently inscribed. The legend 'ONE PENNY TOKEN' arcs along the upper periphery between the beaded border and the inner circle, completing the token's denomination and date identification.
