Reverse description A voided long cross extends to the coin's beaded border, dividing the reverse into four quarters. Each quarter is decorated alternately with mullets of six points and five points, producing an alternating star pattern across the four segments. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin reads REX SCOTORVM. The overall design follows the standard late 13th-century Scottish hammered penny type, with the cross and mullet motif characteristic of the Balliol First Coinage.
