| Reverse description | A long cross pattée extending to the coin's edge divides the field into four quarters, each containing a cluster of pellets in the angles of the cross; additional pellets appear specifically within the second and third quarters, defining this as the Cross-pellet issue. A beaded inner circle is present, and the mint name legend is divided into four segments by the arms of the cross, reading continuously around the field. The overall design follows the standard Lancastrian penny reverse type introduced under Henry V and continued into Henry VI's first reign. |
