Reverse description A voided short cross extending to the coin's edge, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a quatrefoil of pellets within an inner beaded circle. The moneyer's name and mint of issue are inscribed in the surrounding legend, reading clockwise in uncial lettering. The overall design follows the standard Short Cross reverse type introduced under Henry II and continued under subsequent reigns.
