Reverse description The Arms of Jamaica occupy the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing five golden pineapples on a black cross over plain gold quarters, supported on the left by a Taíno figure and on the right by a crocodile supporter, with a crocodile crest atop a royal helm above the shield. A scroll beneath the shield carries the motto 'INDUS UTERQUE SERVIET UNI' ('Both Indies serving one'). The legend 'JAMAICA' arcs across the upper periphery, 'ONE PENNY' runs along the lower periphery, and the date '1937' is divided across the field on either side of the shield, all within a milled border.
