Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a laurel wreath tied at the nape. The Latin legend GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA arcs around the periphery, reading from lower left to upper right, while the date appears prominently in the exergue below the truncation. A toothed milling border frames the entire design. The portrait is executed in the neoclassical style characteristic of Pistrucci's work at the Royal Mint.
