Reverse description A tailless Manx cat, rendered in high relief and facing left in a proud, upright stance, occupies the central field. The feline figure is adorned with a decorative collar and is surrounded by stylized foliate scrollwork issuing from the lower field, lending the composition an ornate, heraldic quality. The denomination numeral 1 appears in small characters at the base of the design beneath the scrollwork. The overall design was engraved by Leslie Lindsay and reflects the Isle of Man's close cultural association with the distinctive Manx breed.
