| Reverse description | Central design featuring a vertically oriented sword with a crossguard, its point directed upward, surmounted by a floreated royal crown rendered in low relief, evoking the medieval authority under which the Magna Carta was sealed. The inscription MAGNA CARTA is rendered in a gothic-style script flanking the sword on either side of the field. The commemorative dates 1215 and 2015 appear in the upper field to the left and right respectively, marking the 800th anniversary of the charter. The denomination ONE PENNY is inscribed along the lower rim in upright capital letters. |
