Obverse description A heraldic rose occupies the central field, its petals rendered in bold relief with characteristic Gothic stylization. A small cross pattée is positioned at the center of the rose, serving as the focal device. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the flan extends irregularly, consistent with hand-hammered medieval coinage. No legend is present on this face, the rose itself functioning as the primary dynastic emblem of the House of York.
