Reverse description Long cross pattée extending to the coin's beaded border, dividing the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing three pellets arranged in a triangular formation — a design characteristic of English medieval pennies. The cross is boldly struck and well-centred, with the arms terminating near the edge of the flan. A beaded inner circle is present. The mint name legend CIVI TAS LON DON, denoting the City of London mint, is inscribed in uncial Latin characters within the four quadrants of the outer field.
