Obverse description Facing crowned portrait of King Edward I with a tall bust and elongated neck, rendered in the characteristic uncial style of the period. The effigy is enclosed within an inner beaded circle, with the royal legend distributed around the periphery. The crown features prominent cross and fleur details typical of Class 2b coinage. Notably, the letter N appears in reversed form within the legend, a diagnostic feature of this class. The portrait exhibits the simplified yet bold linear treatment characteristic of late 13th-century English hammered silver coinage.
