Reverse description A bold cross fleury divides the reverse into four quarters, each containing a single pellet at its center. The terminal fleurs of the cross arms extend toward the inner beaded circle, which is itself enclosed by a partial outer legend along the coin's periphery. The design is struck in high relief with the energetic, somewhat irregular character typical of mid-12th-century Scottish hammered silver pennies.
