Reverse description A crowned rampant lion passant to the left, with a pellet placed behind the figure, all set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend continues the royal title in Latin, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The lion is rendered in the bold, somewhat crude style typical of hammered Scottish copper coinage of the reign of Charles I.
