Reverse description The central field bears the three-line inscription BRITISH COPPER COMPANY in bold raised lettering, enclosed within a wreath of oak leaves and acorns tied at the base with a ribbon bow, the whole rendered in fine relief. The wreath is carefully detailed with individual leaves and clustered acorns, conveying the industrial prestige of the issuing company. The peripheral legend SMELTING WORKS AT LANDORE * BRITISH COPPER COMPANY runs around the outer margin, separated from the wreath by a plain border. The overall composition is symmetrical and formally arranged, consistent with the high-quality commercial token production of the Soho Mint under Matthew Boulton.
