Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Edward Thomason facing left, rendered in mid-relief with curled hair, enclosed within a large wreath of oak leaves and acorns tied at the base, the whole surrounded by a finely milled border. The portrait is unlegended, the field plain, and the composition is characteristic of the Birmingham tradesman's token style of the early nineteenth century.
