Obverse description Within a raised inner circle, two clasped hands shown in high relief at centre, symbolising commercial partnership, with ruffled cuffs visible at each wrist. A row of beaded dots arcs above the handshake motif in the upper field. The date 1811 appears prominently in the lower portion of the inner field. The surrounding legend reads BIRMINGHAM AND RISCA * COPPER COMPANY *, with asterisks as separators, contained between the inner circle and the milled outer border.
