| Obverse description | Stylized bust facing left, rendered in a debased Hiberno-Norse idiom, with a pellet device at the neck and a cross pommée or similar symbol positioned before the face. The surrounding legend is blundered and degenerate, retaining only vestigial traces of the Anglo-Saxon prototype inscriptions from which it derives. The overall execution reflects the progressive abstraction characteristic of late Hiberno-Norse coinage of the mid-eleventh century. |
