Reverse description The reverse displays a seated figure of Britannia in classical draped robes, facing left, positioned centrally within a beaded border. In her extended left hand she holds an olive branch, symbolising peace, while her right hand rests upon a trident leaning against her shoulder. A Union shield rests against her left side, and a small vessel appears in the lower left field near the exergue line. The legend BRITANNIA is arranged in large spaced capital letters around the upper arc of the field, following the convention established on contemporary British regal copper coinage.
