| Reverse description | A voided short cross divides the reverse field into four equal quarters, each containing a six-pointed star or mullet, a design distinctive of the Phase D coinage of Alexander II. The cross extends to the inner beaded circle, with the arms rendered in the characteristic hammered style. A circular legend in Latin runs around the periphery outside the beaded border, naming the moneyer and mint. The overall composition is bold and geometrically precise within the constraints of hand-struck medieval coinage. |
