Obverse description A grid cross occupies the central field, formed by intersecting lines creating a latticed or reticulated pattern within the arms of the cross. The design is rendered in a crude, hand-engraved style characteristic of medieval Gotlandic bracteate-related coinage. The cross arms extend nearly to the coin's irregular flan edge, with no surrounding legend or inscription. The flat, hammered flan shows the typical uneven fabric of 13th-century Scandinavian small silver.
