Obverse description Central field features a small, thin Greek cross with a pellet at each arm tip, all contained within a raised inner circle. The legend in Latin characters reads around the periphery between the inner circle and the irregular outer rim, naming the king. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered Viking-Age coinage, with the design struck in low relief.
