| Obverse description | Central triquetra motif, each of the three tips surmounted by a small cross, forming a tripartite arrangement that replaces the conventional inscription entirely. A raised ring frames the design along the inner rim, accentuating the triquetra within the coin's field. The overall composition reflects the Hiberno-Scandinavian artistic tradition common to Norwegian hammered pennies of the mid-eleventh century. |
