Obverse lettering ERIK MAGN REX NORVEG
(Translation: Erik Magnus, king of Norway)
Reverse description A large bold cross occupies the central field, its arms extending nearly to the inner beaded ring that surrounds it. A Latin uncial legend is inscribed in the annular space between the inner and outer beaded rings, both rings forming the decorative border typical of Norwegian medieval pennings. The cross is a devotional motif referencing the Holy Cross of Jesus Christ, consistent with ecclesiastical numismatic tradition of the period.
