Obverse description Crude effigy of a royal bust with free-flowing hair facing left, rendered in the rough hammered style characteristic of late Viking-age Norwegian coinage. The bust occupies the central field and is enclosed by a circular beaded border at the rim. A circumscribed legend in Latin uncial characters surrounds the effigy between the bust and the beaded ring.

Reverse description A two-lined cross set within a solid inner ring occupies the central field, a motif typical of Anglo-Saxon-influenced Norwegian pennings of the period. The cross and solid ring are enclosed by a circumscribed repetitive legend in Latin uncial characters. A solid ring forms the border at the rim.
