Reverse description A bold double-lined cross divides the field into four equal quadrants, a characteristic type of late Viking-age Norwegian pennies. A runic legend encircles the cross, reading 'kunar a mot thisa' (translated: 'Gunnar owns this stamp'), identifying the die-cutter or moneyer by name. The rim is bordered by a solid beaded ring, consistent with hammered Scandinavian coinage of the reign of Olaf Kyrre.
