Obverse description The Hungarian Royal coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting the traditional quartered shield with the Árpád stripes on the dexter side and the apostolic double cross on the sinister side, surmounted by the Holy Crown of Saint Stephen with its characteristic bent cross finial. The shield is rendered in moderate relief against a plain field. The circular legend MAGYAR KIRÁLYSÁG (Kingdom of Hungary) runs along the lower periphery in incuse Latin lettering. The coin shows evidence of a Red Army counterstamp applied to the upper right portion of the obverse field.
