| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a long cross pattée, with the crowned shield of Gelderland arms at its center, the cross arms extending to divide the surrounding circular legend. The design is characteristic of the hammered billon coinage issued under Archdukes Albert and Isabella for the mint of Roermond. The legend is disposed around the periphery in Latin characters, with pellet stops separating the words. The overall strike is irregular, consistent with the hand-hammered technique of the period. |
