| Obverse description | Central field features a Chinthe, the mythical Burmese guardian lion-dragon, depicted in full-body profile facing right in a rampant seated posture, with its tail curling upward in an elaborate flourish. The creature's body is rendered with finely engraved scales and intricate decorative detailing throughout, while the head displays a serrated mane and open mouth conveying regal authority. The design occupies the full central field without any accompanying legend or inscription. Execution is in low relief with crisp, well-defined lines consistent with mid-twentieth-century Commonwealth-influenced minting practice. The entire composition is contained within the characteristic twelve-notch scalloped border. |
