| Obverse description | A rampant lion facing left, seated and holding a shield bearing the quartered arms of Burgundy, occupying the central field. The design is executed in the late medieval heraldic style characteristic of Burgundian Low Countries coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central device. The surrounding legend, rendered in Gothic characters, reads from a cross and incorporates the ruler's titles, terminating with the mintmark of the issuing atelier. |
