Obverse description Central Burgundian cross pattée with firesteel (flint-and-steel) devices in each angle, a suspended jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece hanging from the lower limb of the cross. The date is divided by the horizontal arms of the cross. A fleur-de-lis mint mark appears at the top of the cross. The surrounding circular Latin legend is separated from the field by an inner beaded border.
