| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a large quartered heraldic shield displaying the complex arms of Louise Marguerite de Lorraine, surmounted by a princely crown. The shield is encircled by the chain of a chivalric order, forming a decorative surround. A Latin legend runs along the outer periphery, reading LVD MARG A LOTH D G SVP PR C REGI, identifying the issuing princess by name and title. The overall composition is rendered in the high-relief heraldic style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Franco-Lotharingian coinage. |
