| Obverse lettering | . CAROL · II · D · G · HISP · ET · INDIAR · REX . ⚜ 1667 (Translation: Charles II by God`s grace King of the Spains and the Indies) |
| Reverse description | Central field displays the elaborately quartered arms of the Spanish Habsburg dominions, comprising castles and lions for Castile and León, vertical pales for Aragon, an eagle for Sicily, a chain for Navarre, pomegranate for Granada, fleur-de-lis for Bourbon, and additional quarterings representing Austria and Burgundy, all surmounted by a crowned escutcheon of Habsburg in the center and topped by the imperial crown. The shield is flanked on both sides by the arms of Flanders and Burgundy and supported by decorative mantling. The peripheral Latin legend reads: · ARCHID · AVST · DVX · BVRG · CO · FLAN · Zc, identifying Charles II as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, and Count of Flanders. The overall composition reflects the complex heraldic tradition of the Spanish Habsburg Netherlands coinage. |
