| Obverse description | Blue intaglio-printed note with the bank title in both Portuguese and Chinese characters across the top. At centre, the large Chinese denomination characters 圓壹 are printed in dark blue over a fine guilloche underprint, flanked on the left by the Portuguese royal arms vignette and on the right by a vignette of a traditional Chinese memorial gateway (paifang). The date 'LISBOA, 16 de Novembro de 1945' appears above the central panel, with the denomination 'UMA PATACA' in bold letterpress below, and two manuscript signatures printed beneath the Decreto reference. |
