Obverse description Conjoined busts of Queen Maria I and King Pedro III facing right, both laureate, within a milled border. The king's bust is positioned slightly behind and overlapping that of the queen, rendered in a bold, somewhat archaic relief characteristic of colonial Goan minting. The legend GOA appears to the left of the busts and PARDAO to the right, with the date 1782 inscribed along the lower rim beneath the busts.
