| Reverse description | A floriated cross pattée occupies the centre of the field, with elaborate fleur-de-lis or foliate terminals extending from each arm, creating a radiating sunburst effect. The arms of the cross divide the field into four equal quarters. The design is deeply struck with bold relief, typical of Portuguese Indian hammered silver coinage of the eighteenth century. The overall composition is compact and symmetrical, filling the flan to its edges. |
