| Reverse description | The reverse presents large, boldly rendered Arabic calligraphy occupying the majority of the field, bearing the mint name and regnal/AH date inscription. A partial dotted border or pellet ring frames the right portion of the design, curving along the inner edge of the coin. The calligraphic style is characteristic of Tipu Sultan's copper coinage, with flowing strokes and angular terminals. The irregular flan leaves portions of the border incomplete, as is typical of hammered issues from this series. |
