| Reverse description | The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic inscription in Naskh script, reading 'Fi ahd al-amir al-hami al-din al-dayyan' (meaning: In the time of the amir, the protector of the religion, the judge of good and evil), arranged in horizontal registers across the central field. The legend fills the entire flan in the characteristic Sur Empire epigraphic style, with a marginal border partially preserved along the coin's irregular edge. The hammered technique results in slightly uneven strike depth, with some areas of the legend showing strong relief while peripheral portions fade toward the rim. A subsidiary legend or mint/date reference appears in the lower register, consistent with the Narnol mint attribution. |
